OVERVIEW: Farmhouse is excited to offer Beginner through Intermediate level guitar instruction! We will be using Belwin's 21st Century Guitar curriculum, which features 3 books: Method, Theory and Rock Shop. Below are descriptions of each book.
Belwin's 21st Century Guitar Method is a complete course that puts lessons in the context of popular styles and classic tunes. It introduces new topics at a progressive speed and uses both music notation and tablature (TAB). Correlating supplemental books integrate more advanced concepts and techniques, while keeping the learning process fun. Audio recordings include full instruction with demonstration and play-along tracks that will help students optimize their practice time.
Belwin's 21st Century Guitar Theory 1 correlates with Belwin's 21st Century Guitar Method 1 and helps beginners understand music theory in a practical way. Exercises relate music notation and diagrams to the fretboard to help build students' understanding of the guitar. This edition includes updated new lesson material.
Belwin's 21st Century Rock Shop is a complete, stand-alone method for rock guitar which builds musicianship and encourages creativity. It has the same attributes as the core method, and the two correlate. Covers rock and blues riffs, power chords, lead scales, and classic rhythm and lead guitar patterns as played by the greats. In standard notation and tablature. Book 1 includes power chords, eighth-note rhythms, the blues form, minor pentatonic scales, rhythm riffs, music theory, and boogie patterns. Includes riffs in the style of Led Zeppelin, ZZ Top®, The Rolling Stones and Eric Clapton.
AUDIENCE: This course is designed for both new and experienced guitarists. AGES 10 y/o (i.e. Middle School) through Adult.
